Historically speaking Red Vein Kratom has one of the most well-documented histories, at least when … compared to other strains of Kratom. There is strong evidence to suggest that Red Vein Kratom originated in Thailand, which has an excellent reputation for cultivating and producing many different strains of Kratom. It’s popularity then spread to other parts of Southeast Asia, including Borneo and Indonesia. Many people mistakenly believe that the Red Vein strain of Kratom is genetically modified, but the reality is that it is cultivated and produced using a technique known as grafting. Grafting is a type of cultivation where two different strains of Kratom are merged together in an attempt to grow one that has more enhanced features. All forms of Kratom contains more than 40 different alkaloids. The most significant of these are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine—In the case of red veins, it’s the latter that’s more prevalent. There are several different strains of Red Vein Kratom. All of the strains are named based primarily on where they’re cultivated —common examples include Red Maeng Da, Red Borneo, Red Bali, and Red Sumatra. Red Maeng Da is also referred to as Red Vein Thai, comes from the dense forests of Thailand. Red Borneo originates as the name suggests from the island of Borneo. Red Vein Bali is probably the most common strain of the herb, and it shares many characteristics with Red Vein Borneo. Red Vein Sumatra, comes from the Sumatran jungles.
